Free Entry Days

Palazzo Grimani is free for everyone on the first Sunday of every month (the national #domenicalmuseo scheme), and on 25 April, 2 June and 4 November. Under-18s are free every day.

No booking is needed on free days. The museum is small, so mid-morning on a free Sunday is the busiest it gets; arrive at 10:00 or after 16:00.

What You'll See

What Your Ticket Covers

The Permanent Route

The visit starts in the 16th-century courtyard and climbs the monumental staircase frescoed by Federico Zuccari. On the piano nobile you walk through the rooms the Grimani decorated: the Camerino di Apollo, the Sala del Doge Antonio with its coloured marbles, the Room of Foliage, the Sala del Camino and the Sala di Psiche.

It ends in the Tribuna, where Patriarch Giovanni Grimani's ancient sculptures are displayed under the coffered vault, with Ganymede and the eagle hanging in the centre.

Temporary Exhibitions

The second floor, without the decoration of the first, hosts one or more exhibitions a year that set ancient and contemporary art against each other. In 2026 it shows Amoako Boafo's first solo exhibition in Italy, from 5 May to 22 November.

Exhibitions are normally covered by the standard ticket. Allow extra time: they can double the length of your visit.

Common Questions

Tickets FAQ

How much does Palazzo Grimani cost?
A full ticket costs €14. Visitors aged 18 to 25 pay €2. Under-18s, and disabled visitors with a companion, enter free. An annual pass is €30. Entry is free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month, and on 25 April, 2 June and 4 November.
Where can I buy Palazzo Grimani tickets?
Only at the museum's ticket desk or through the official Musei Italiani app and website. There is rarely a queue, so individual visitors can simply buy at the door. Groups must book ahead by email ([email protected]) or phone (+39 041 241 15 07).
Is Palazzo Grimani on GetYourGuide or Viator?
Not as a standalone ticket. On Viator, the private 'Secret Venice' walking tour includes the Palazzo Grimani entrance ticket, along with a guide and the back streets between Rialto and Castello.
Is Palazzo Grimani included in a Venice museum pass?
No. Palazzo Grimani is a state museum, so it is not part of the city-run Venice Museum Pass that covers the Doge's Palace and Museo Correr. It has its own ticket and its own annual pass.
Do exhibitions cost extra?
Temporary exhibitions on the second floor are normally included in the museum ticket. Check the museum's website when you visit, as conditions can change for special shows.
